Kashmir’s Deadly Attack: 26 Tourists Killed in Terror Assault on Baisaran Valley

Kashmir’s Baisaran Valley: A Paradise of Peace Turned into a Bloodbath

Baisaran Valley was once well-known across the globe for its peace and rich beauty. It served as a refuge for tourists trying to ease themselves from the burdening demands of life. People came here to relax, capture the breathtaking beauty of nature, and breath in the fresh air coming from the mountains.

However, that calm was shattered within a few seconds on April 22, 2025. It is hard to believe, but families and tourists were walking over the hills. The valley was so quiet, people were desperately looking for ways to survive as gunfire echoed through the valley. A perfectly good vacation spot turned into a horrifying ordeal which leaves the valley damaged beyond repair and all those who witnessed the catastrophe suffering deep mental scars.

Who’s Behind the Bloodshed?

Shortly after the attack, a group calling itself Kashmir Resistance took credit. In a statement shared through encrypted channels, the outfit claimed the killings were a “message” against India’s “settlement tactics” in the valley.

Officials haven’t verified the group’s legitimacy, but sources suggest they had been on the radar—just not expected to strike civilians so openly.

The Aftermath: A Valley in Lockdown

The region has been sealed off. Army personnel, drones, and special forces are sweeping the forests around Pahalgam. This wasn’t a random outburst—militants knew where and when to hit. That fact alone has shaken confidence in the current security apparatus.

An official, speaking on condition of anonymity, said, “They chose tourists for maximum impact. That’s what makes this different—and dangerous.”

Leaders React, but Public Wants Action

Prime Minister Narendra Modi condemned the massacre as a “monstrous act” and assured the country that the killers would be found. But public sentiment is raw. “Words are not enough,” wrote one user on X. “Our people keep dying and all we get are statements.”
